  1. Large scale deployment of solar panels (e.g. car parks) creates a localised climate change (maybe regional) which needs some assessment beyond the CO2 emission reduction and cooling the city (similar to the way that airplane contrails affect the amount of sun reaching the ground).

    That’s why really large schemes in the African Desert haven’t significantly progressed, concerns it would impact regional weather in ways not yet fully understood

  2. I was all set to be appalled by the apostrophised “rail workers battle winter’s in this …”, but viewing the article showed the much lesser offence of missing the word “worst”. I lived through the weather of 60 years ago with the added handicap of having scalded my foot part way through, so had to get about with only one shoe and the bandaged member kept off the snowy ground with a stick.
