  1. “Covered Walkways” – utterly fascinating, but the author, in some areas, plainly hasn’t a clue:
    “Furthermore, covered walkways were not so common in Great Britain, which had a shortage of shelter despite its ceaseless rain.”
    Err … no. London has approx 580mm (23″) of rain a year, less than Paris, or New York, or Rome.
    Where this totally untrue myth came from, I really don’t know.
