  1. Excited to see Nottingham’s Park Tunnel reach the heady heights of London Reconnections fame! There are few experiences stranger or more thrilling than walking through the basement car park of a 1990’s apartment building, and then emerging back into the light between enormous sandstone tunnel arches whilst still walking downhill.

If it didn’t run perpendicular to the radial routes of the city centre and end in a conservation area with some of the highest land values in the Midlands, I’m sure the local crayonistas would have come up with a try and shoehorn an extension to Nottingham’s tram through it. As it is, its a curious oddity!

  2. Never knew that Park Tunnel existed, indeed slightly annoyed that I will have walked past its entrance (along Derby Road) on my only visit to Nottingham!

Surprised that I’ve never seen it on TV before e.g. on one of Michael Portillo’s railway shows as he’s been to Nottingham more than once, and a Victorian folly like this is exactly the type of thing the show usually covers.
