The 2014 London Reconnections Xmas Quiz

Deck the halls, it is that time of year again! Twenty-one questions to test your transport knowledge with the promise of prizes for those who do best!

Right now those prizes include the usual selection of transport books to spread around the top scoring entrants, but also some special items for those scoring highest.

Thanks to Crossrail we once again have something rather unique – a couple of DVD copies of the BBC documentary The Fifteen Billion Pound Railway, part of a very small limited edition run that were produced at time of broadcast.

We also have two of Corgi’s finest limited edition 1:120 scale models from their Railway Legends series to give away:

robinhood

BR 4-6-2 Britannia Class ‘Robin Hood’ 70038

prince-of-wales

BR 4-6-2 A3 Class ‘Prince of Wales’ 60054

Our prize-scrounging is not over yet either, and hopefully we can drum up some more interesting prizes as well.

How to enter and rules

To enter send your answers to [email protected] with the word “quiz” in the subject line somewhere on or before 30th December 2014. Answers and winners will be posted on 31st December 2014.

Please be aware that by entering you are giving us permission to at least print your initials if you win a prize. If you’d prefer to by known by a pseudonym, just let us know in your entry email instead.

To try and keep things fair, please resist the urge to to post answers in the comments – although clues may be permitted (at our discretion).

Finally, before we begin, a quick reminder that we’ll be out for our Christmas drinks this Thursday at the Blue Posts. As always everyone is welcome and if you’re after clues then, with our normal selection of knowledgeable regulars and drunk editorial staff in attendance, that is definitely the place to be.

Special thanks this year to those individuals at both Crossrail and TfL who have now become almost as adept at spotting a good Xmas quiz question as we are, and for being forthcoming with some very obscure photos when asked.

Thanks also, from all of us here at London Reconnections, to all of you out there for reading, commenting and spotting throughout the year. Without you LR wouldn’t be one tenth as interesting or as useful as it is.

Merry Christmas everyone!
