Last 67 Stock Service Tomorrow

For those interested, the 30th June will see the last run of 67 Stock in passenger service on the Victoria Line.

Train number 247 will operate the service, which is currently planned to be:

15:52 Seven Sisters – Brixton 16:22
16:25 Brixton – Seven Sisters 16:58
17:10 Seven Sisters – Brixton 17:40
17:43 Brixton – Seven Sisters 18:16
18:29 Seven Sisters – Brixton 18:59
19:01 Brixton – Seven Sisters 19:32

67s have been unable to operate beyond Seven Sisters for some time now, and their departure from passenger service comes as work continues on removal of the old signalling system and commissioning of the new. This is planned to finish in the Seven Sisters/Northumberland Road area in March 2012, at that point the hope is to be running 30tph. With the removal of the 67 Stock from passenger service, regenerative braking can now also be turned on.

Trowbridge Estate’s excellent photo of the ceremonial last run of the 67 at Holborn earlier this year.

For the benefit of any passing mainstream media looking for an image, this is not 67 stock.

In honour of the departure of the first fully ATO trains on the system, we’ll be looking to publish a short retrospective on the 67s later this month. If any readers or commentors have any interesting snippets on the stock’s history or time in service, we’d be interested to hear them – whether via the comments on this post or through email.

Apologies to norbitonflyer for stealing his A Stock joke.
